Commonly placed in a weatherproof housing outside of a combat vehicle, the C-2296A/VRC allows communication with vehicle crewmembers through the intercom or use of the vehicle installed radio sets by personnel outside the vehicle. The C-2296/VRC is provided with an H-207/VRC handset, permanently attached, requiring no audio accessories to be attached. Binding posts allow connection to a 2-wire telephone circuit, or direct connection between two similarly equipped vehicles.
