Lightweight, tactical, manual (monocord) switchboard that can be rapidly installed to provide field facilities for interconnecting 12 local battery telephone circuits, remote controlled radio circuits, or voice-frequency (VF) teletypewriter circuits. Two SB-22/PTs may be stacked to provide a 29 circuit capability by removing one TA-221/PT (operator's pack) and inserting five TA-222/PTs (line packs). Replacing a line pack with a trunk pack permits one-way ringdown, one-way automatic trunk circuits between the SB-22A/PT and any other switchboard with common battery signaling. Tone-Signaling Adapter TA-997/PT provides the operator with a two-wire push-button tone-signaling capability for interfacing automatic switches without operator intervention.
