Tacticom offers a selection of equipment for use in combat vehicle and crew served weapon intercommunication sets. We also offer noise and transient voltage suppression systems for use in or with intercom and vehicle radio systems.

AN/VIC-1

AM-1780/VRC Amplifier - The main junction box for the AN/VIC-1. Provides control of the dc power to the associated crewmember control boxes and to the radio system that may be connected to the amplifiers. The amplifiers also amplify and control the audio signals in the intercommunication (intercom) and radio circuits.

C-2298/VRC Control Box - The standard “Crewmember Control Box”, The C-2298/VRC allows vehicle crewmembers to select, by means of the MONITOR switch and the audio accessory controls, to communicate with other crewmembers via the intercom circuit, or remotely operate or monitor any radio equipment connected to the AM-1780/VRC. When connected to a special port on the AM-1780/VRC, the standard control box becomes a “Commander’s Control Box”, allowing the vehicle commander to control and/or override crewmember functions of the intercom and radio equipment.

C-2297/VRC Control Box - Commonly referred to as the “Driver’s Control Box”, the C-2297/VRC functions normally as a crewmember control box, but also contains circuits providing for the control and monitoring of the “Outside Control Box”: C-2296( )/VRC. This also allows the C-2296( )/VRC to be connected to the other vehicle crewmembers and radio equipment via the AM-1780/VRC.

C-2296A/VRC Control Box - Commonly placed in a weatherproof housing outside of a combat vehicle, the C-2296A/VRC allows for the use of the vehicle intercom circuit to communicate with crewmembers or use radio equipment connected to the AM-1780/VRC. The C-2296/VRC is provided with an H-207/VRC handset, permanently attached, requiring no audio accessories to be attached. Binding posts are provided to allow the connection of a field telephone circuit, or other radio-wire equipment.

C-10456/VRC Control Box - A modified C-2298/VRC designed for use with the M1 Abrams Tank. It functions the same as the C-2298/VRC except that it allows remote keying of the intercom or radio through a remote keying jack, normally connected to special keying cables in the M1. This disconnects the normal keying functions of the crew audio accessories and enables special keying controls in the tank. When a dummy plug is connected, the unit functions as a C-2298/VRC.

Cables

CX-4720/VRC Power Cable - Provides connection between the vehicle DC power source (battery) and the Radio Mount MT-1029/VRC or an AM-1780/VRC. The cable is terminated on one end with terminal lugs to connect to the DC source.

CX-4721/VRC Power Cable - Provides connection between two Radio Mounts MT-1029/VRC or MT-1898/VRC to transfer power from one radio mount to the other.

CX-4722A/VRC Special Purpose Cable - Connects an RT-246, RT-524 or OA-3633 to an Antenna Matching Unit MX-2799/VRC or MX-6707/VRC, providing power and tuning control signals to the matching unit via the antenna control circuits of the R-T or Amplifier.

CX-4723/VRC Special Purpose Cable - Used to interconnect audio accessories, control boxes and radio mounts, providing power, control and audio signals.

CX-7059/VRC Special Purpose Cable - Used to connect Remote Control Box C-2742/VRC to a Receiver-Transmitter RT-246/VRC for remote selection of the preset frequency channels.

CG-1773/U RF Cable - A standard vehicle coaxial cable, it is used to provide connection vehicle mounted radios and thier respective antennas. Terminated with a right-angle BNC connector and a straight BNC connector on the other end.

CG-1127/U RF Cable - R.F. cable providing a receiver antenna connection between two aux receivers(R-442/VRC), enabling the units to share one antenna. The cable is terminated with right angle connectors on both ends.

CX-13089/VRC Cable - Provides power from the MX-7777B/GRC to a radio mount or AM-1780/VRC. May also be used in place of the CX-4720/VRC in vehicles where DC power is available from a 3-pin receptacle.

CX-7687/VRC Cable - An audio accessory cable used to extend a loudspeaker or headset to a remote location, or to add to a standard cable length.

CX-7058/VRC Cable - A special purpose cable providing connection between an aux receiver, R-442/VRC, and an AM-1780/VRC, for monitoring of the R-442/VRC by the VIC-1 system.

CX-10613/G Cable - A special purpose power cable to provide connection between the vehicle DC power source and the suppressor, MX-7777B/GRC.

Mission Statement

	AM-1780/VRC	Amplifier - The main junction box for the AN/VIC-1.
